Jon
This link has a rough description of the SiC manufacturing process. It
sounds like it has two steps. An initial high temp fire done in combustible
filled sealed saggers and a second low temperature glaze fire.
I've seen steel pipe used for firebox bars. Why not steel pipe passing
through the trench of a kiln with ends opening to the outside and into the
firebox?
With the help of the cooling air and maybe a coat of ITC how long would it
last?
