just cut some brick, small slices and slide them into the flu.
like 2 inches, then fire, see how it works, then two more inches,
see how it works.
it is a trial and error system. as i say, find the sweet spot, flu size, gas
pressure and damper opening. there is no one way. it is the combination.
27 cubes is really a smallish kiln. mine is 42 and i have a 32 sq in
flu. as you know, that baby fires in 6 hours. (unless you have every
kiln shelf i own and 50 plates.
i have seen enough bricks piled in kilns that have no meaning at all.
they call them bag walls. it is total silliness.
that is pot i want to stir...take a 2x4 to those gd kilns that fire
in 18-20 hours.
