[Clayart] Outing the fire weasels

Woof-meister wrote about an incredible disappearing sculptural apiece in a
wood firing by a still embarrassable Minnesotan potter

John Reeve (no longer embarrassable, alas) told me once about loading a set
of tall porcelain vases that he was eager to see completed. The vases went
in the back of the kiln, but were still visible over  stoneware stacked in
the front. After firing, they'd shrunk so much they they were hidden behind
the stoneware, but despite John being the one to open the kiln, his first
thought was like my weasel fears  - "Someone has stolen them!"
