Mel asked about a gray glaze.  Here's one I concocted years ago, and is quite popular.  I call it "Whale Tail" because it is a blue-gray speckled satin glaze that looks like whale skin.  Fires to Cone 6 in oxidation.  Apply thinly.  If applied thick, it has a tendency to run and looks ugly.

Whale Tail - Cone 6 ox

G-200 feldspar         42
Whiting                     21
EPK                          21
Silica              16

Mason Stain 6600       4
Red iron oxide             2
Rutile                           4
Cobalt oxide                 1.4
