[Clayart] WHITE POTS

Hi Kathi, yes in my world also, people want color.
And since I moved and left my last wood fired kiln in Arizona where a "Cash Flow Blue" along with a woodfired Oribe blue/green ruled the market, I now have a modified and tweaked "Cash Flow Opal Blue" that rules over all in ^6 oxidation.
And with a bit of lightly brushed over thinned glazes, slips, and oxides, on a deep red/brown body, resembles a reduction fired glaze. Yes! a resounding yes! color rules!

White for me is reserved as a "ground" for fine brushwork drawings with oxides, and painterly brush strokes of colored stains........Ron Meyers white slip, and Ron and John's ^6 majolica are versatile and give me exactly what I need.

My "White" post you responded to, started out as just me noodling around an idea with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
I did though become curious with the idea, and the what if I had the time and $$$ to spend to explore with film, what might come about.

Misneach,
David Woof............................................................................................................................

I have a glaze combination that is white with a semi matte black. It’s popular. But, by far my most popular glaze is on has copper in it and goes from a shiny orange to a translucent copper blue. It has both purple and copper red trailer over it. People not wanting color? My experience says they do.
