Years ago I did a sculpture of a Mountain Lion measuring 28" L X 18" T X 19" D, I worked on it off & on for a month. I covered it with plastic from the dry cleaners,& sprayed it with water every couple of days, checking it with a fingernail or pressing my finger into the clay, if it didn't make a mark I sprayed it down with water, & covered it with the plastic. I'm wondering if the type of clay used has any bearing on the problems mentioned. By the way my studio is in my basement, no direct sunlight no drafts. Mike Gordon
